John Winthrop Nursery School
John Winthrop Nursery School
About
The John Winthrop School for Young Children was established in 1966 by members of the First Unitarian Universalist Church in Boston to provide educational facilities for children in the Back Bay and South End. The school aimed for racial and economic diversity from the beginning and grew in size after a fire destroyed the church building in 1968. While it is no longer directly affiliated with the church, the school remains an integral part of the Greater Boston Community, and alumni parents have praised its caring teachers.
