CEFA Early Learning Kelowna- McKay
About
CEFA Early Learning is a private preschool for children aged 1-5. The teachers at CEFA are skilled thinkers who question what and why they teach their students. The curriculum is based on the French standards of junior kindergarten and includes core subjects, such as literacy, STEM, fine arts, and mindfulness. The methodology focuses on experience-based brain development and incorporates best practices from early learning programs around the world. Teachers not only present activities but also observe and document children’s interests, following their lead. The goal is to teach children to learn from all circumstances and develop a habit of lifelong learning and curiosity. Teachers regularly review children’s social and educational development with their families. Through open-source learning, CEFA continually incorporates the most up-to-date philosophies on early childhood education. All teachers are licensed and receive training in child development and safety. The training covers the curriculum, teaching methods, and necessary soft skills for leadership and working with families. CEFA values professional growth and offers a unique scholarship program for its full-time teachers. CEFA was founded by Natacha Beim. At age 25, she opened her first school and trained each teacher individually. Her curriculum focused on teaching reading and writing, as well as various other skills such as art and yoga.
