Earthlings Childcare

Roxy and Craig Norris opened Earthlings Childcare on Earth Day in 2009. They traveled extensively before opening the preschool, with Roxy teaching English in Costa Rica for a year. Combining Roxy’s experience as an early childhood educator and Craig’s business background, they were able to create their dream space. Earthlings focuses on teaching children to care for the environment, community, and themselves. They offer activities centered around respect and appreciation for nature, serve organic and non-GMO food, and have on-site gardens where children can grow their own vegetables. They prioritize a higher teacher-to-child ratio to ensure personalized attention and a peaceful setting. The school also emphasizes serving healthy food, choosing organic and locally sourced options. Earthlings engages in various environmental activities such as nature walks, visiting local farms, and participating in Earth Day celebrations. Parents appreciate the loving care and guidance their children receive at Earthlings and value the focus on individual strengths and needs. The daycare also promotes environmental awareness and teaches children the importance of reducing, reusing, and recycling.
