Agate Private School

Agate Private School, founded in 1983 and registered with the Ministry of Education, is a preschool in Toronto catered towards like-minded families and alternative education approaches. The school follows the Democratic, Self Directed, Sociocratic, and Sudbury Models, allowing students to run the UnSchool through democratic processes and a Pull System for learning. They offer voluntary attendance, autonomy in curriculum design, self-graduation, and a year-round calendar to facilitate a barrier-free learning environment. Agate Private School merged with Banyan Tree School in 2000, and now serves a small number of students who seek a unique and diverse educational experience.
