Astra Day School

Astra Day School maintains a low student to teacher ratio of one teacher per every five students, which is in contrast to the standard allowed by state regulations. Parents are encouraged to have an open door policy and actively participate in their child’s learning. The school provides individualized teaching with ongoing measurement and places children in learning opportunities where they can enjoy and succeed. The school utilizes cooperative learning cohorts to engage the students in responding to the presentation of ideas, concepts and experiences. The learning environment is designed to minimize student errors and when errors do occur, the teachers encourage the students to see it as a “learning opportunity.” At astra day school, children are taught with the amount of teacher attention required to learn, not just given the number of teachers required.
