Burlington Children's Space
About
The Burlington Children’s Space is a private, nonprofit early education and childcare center that originated in the 1980s with a citizens’ group concerned about childcare opportunities in the Burlington community. They received a grant to convert part of the basement of Memorial Auditorium into a childcare facility designed by architect Rolf Kielman and opened with 15 children that same month. Over the years, they have worked closely with Burlington’s child development division to ensure access to care for low-income families and partnered with public schools for act 166 universal pre-K funding. They rely heavily on outside sources for funding, including grants and individual donors.
