Cathedral Montessori School

Cathedral Montessori School was founded in 2010 with the help of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral.

Cathedral Montessori School is based on Christian principles and welcomes pupils of all religious, ethnic, and racial backgrounds. Its pupils have the opportunity to participate in formal worship in the Greek Orthodox tradition as well as study Christianity and other global faiths.

The Cathedral Montessori classroom, across from Bayou St. John, spreads from a two-story light-filled home onto the surrounding gardens and fields. The indoor classroom is separated into different spaces dedicated to the discovery of Montessori’s main disciplines of “work”: practical life, sensorial, language, numeracy, and cultural studies. The youngsters tend to a vegetable and flower garden, toiling the soil and caring for the plants.
