Frances Jacobson Early Childhood Center
About
The FJECC has a philosophy rooted in respect, individual dignity and self-worth. It adopts a pedagogical approach within the developmental model of education structure and sets limits in positive ways. Conflicts are viewed as opportunities to help children develop problem solving skills and cope with stressful situations. The school pays close attention to each child’s developmental needs, interests and strengths and has a strong Judaic program. The value of play is recognized and autonomy and independence are strongly encouraged. Respect for one another and ourselves is emphasized, and the environment is varied to meet the needs of each child. Parents are seen as partners in the process of educating children, with formal channels of communication provided.
