Halifax Independent School

This text is about a diverse preschool community located in Halifax. The educators, students, and their families are enthusiastic and share a common purpose. The teachers and staff at the school are patient, attentive, and bring humor and positivity to their work. The school began as a lab school at Dalhousie University and has had multiple locations before moving to its permanent home in 2004. The school is easily accessible and has a welcoming, bright building with two playgrounds, a playing field, and a picnic area. They also have a multi-purpose room for shared use and larger gatherings. The school offers a progressive and holistic education and collaborates with cooperating institutions to welcome practicum students. They are a proud member of the International Association of Laboratory Schools.
