Harding Academy of Memphis

Harding Academy is a Christian school located in east Memphis, serving children from 6 weeks old to grade 12. The school focuses on both academic and spiritual development, aiming to prepare students for college and beyond. They have different school hours for different grade levels, with the Little Harding and Lower School running from 8:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., and the Middle and Upper Schools running from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The school offers a range of grade levels, with different class sizes and faculty-student ratios for each level. Harding Academy has been accredited by the Cognia (Southern Association of Colleges and Schools) since 1960 and has been a member of the National Christian School Association since 2011. The academy also emphasizes the importance of faith and character development in students through education-based athletic programs and discipleship-driven coaching. They are a member of TSSAA Division II–A for varsity and junior varsity sports. The K-12 campus is located on Cherry Road and includes classroom buildings, computer labs, an auditorium, and an extensive athletic complex. They also have a separate campus, called Little Harding, for children from 6 weeks old to junior kindergarten, located in the Church of Christ at White Station. The academy believes in fostering creativity and offers a fine arts program to help students explore their talents. Harding Academy, originally known as Memphis Christian School, was founded in 1952, and in 1991, they opened Little Harding to serve preschool-aged children. The school also provides an iPad for each student in grades 6-12 and maintains a minimum ratio of 1:3 for iPads in each 3-year-old to grade 5 classroom. They have a wireless network throughout all campuses and use Canvas as their learning management system. The school acknowledges their connection to God in their teachings and aims to help students recognize God’s love and let it shape their lives daily. Harding Academy’s food service provider is Lexington Independents, and students can purchase lunch via an online account system or bring their lunches from home.
