Laurel Hill Nursery School

Laurel Hill Nursery School, formerly known as Presidio Nursery School, was founded in 1947 with the goal of providing progressive care and education for children, as well as promoting parent-child relationships and nursery school operations. The school underwent various changes and expansions over the years, including the purchase of land in 1949 and the construction of a new building in 1953. In 1986, the mortgage papers were burned and the deed was given to the board of directors to commemorate the school’s 40th reunion. In 1994, a new classroom was added to accommodate a Pre-K program, and in 1996-97, a master plan for the outdoor space was implemented, including the construction of a new stage. The school celebrated its 50th anniversary in 1996-97 with a gala event. In recent years, Laurel Hill has focused on serving the community in new ways, increasing diversity, and creating a new outdoor space that meets all compliance standards.
