Montessori Community School
About
Robyn Eriwata-Buchanan and Robert Buchanan started their first Montessori school in 1985 and now have more than thirty-three years of providing Montessori education. The Third Avenue Montessori opened with one classroom in September 1985, and two years later they established a new school with three classrooms for full day classes. In 1989, the Cottonwood Canyon facility was opened with part and full-time placements in three classrooms. In 1994, the Tenth East Montessori School was added with a separate Elementary class and Early Childhood. In 2005, they began a Dual Language (Spanish/English) program in one of the Early Childhood classes. In 2006, they renovated and opened their new facility at 2416 East 1700 South which combined all four campuses into one. From 2008 to 2015, MCS had a middle school program for 7th and 8th years, however due to low enrollment it was discontinued.
