Saint Mary's Nursery School
About
Saint Mary’s Nursery School (SMNS) is a non-profit cooperative early years education center, founded in 1964. They are dedicated to the development of young children and cultivating meaningful relationships with their community. SMNS offers day care for children from 18 months to 5 years, as well as after school and summer programming for children in Kindergarten through fifth grade. The educational curriculum is designed to be developmentally appropriate and based on play, creativity and the arts with an emphasis on the social-emotional health and development of each child. SMNS follows a Reggio Emilia inspired teaching philosophy which focuses on building relationships and learning to listen and respond to one another. Art projects, construction projects, and theater performances are individually documented to follow and document each child’s development, which is aligned to the Pennsylvania Early Learning Standards. SMNS is an equal opportunity provider and employer, prohibiting discrimination on the basis of race, color, religious creed, disability, ancestry, national origin, age, sex or gender.
