The Preschool Centre
The Preschool Centre
About
In 1966, the preschool centre (PSC) was opened on the campus of the University of New Brunswick’s Fredericton campus as the university daycare centre. It started with 20 spaces exclusively for staff, faculty, and students. In 1968, PSC obtained charitable status, and in 1970, it was renamed the preschool centre. PSC became the first childcare centre in the Maritime provinces to have an open door policy for children with exceptional needs. It is also the first parent-directed, not-for-profit, integrated childcare centre in New Brunswick.
