About
Trinity-First United Methodist Church in El Paso has a rich history dating back to 1881. The church has been committed to social activism, fighting against issues such as sweatshops, child labor, and gambling houses. Over the years, the church has undergone several renovations and expansions. Notable achievements include the establishment of Lydia Patterson Institute, a children’s orphanage, and the acquisition of Providence Memorial Hospital. Trinity-First also opened one of the first church-related preschools in El Paso in 1952, which is still running today. The church has been involved in various community initiatives, such as operating a radio station and a food pantry. Trinity-First United Methodist Church continues to be a spiritual haven and active force in the community.
